Happy and You Know It–This Can Be You

Be happy!  Fun with your best friend or certain members of your family might come easily.  But fun when it’s just YOU…well, that may seem like a hard sell.  “One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do,” Three Dog Night once sang.  Aren’t they right?

Bull.

Quit selling yourself that riff; it’ll do you no favors.  You carry yourself around 24/7 so honestly, you should enjoy your own company the best!  It’s the company you’re going to keep no matter what.

Being happy and having FUN with yourself is a choice that you make.  Unhappiness is a choice just as much as choosing joy is.  You call the shots.

Give yourself permission to see being alone as anything but lonesome—whether you’re alone all the time because you’re not currently “in a relationship” or whether for a few hours a day you’re home alone while others are at work and school…whatever the situation entails.

Seriously, if you’re doing work that you love…if you’re engaged in any activity that you know you were just born to do…then how are you not happy?  It comes down to you at that point, Mama.  CHOOSE happiness and fun.

And if you’re NOT doing things that you love?  Again, it comes down to you.  Choose to change things up until you get to what’s full of fun and joy.

Pleasure isn’t just in the results of things you’re involved with—it’s in the involvement itself.  There’s a hackneyed old phrase that essentially says life’s not a destination, it’s a journey.  Your life is meant to be bountiful and fun, whether you’re alone or with others…and that’s whether we’re talking about work or play.

Are you being selfish when you focus on your own fun?  Nope.

You can’t give to others (in terms of fun, happiness, positivity, etc.) without having a surplus from which to give in the first place.

So it all DOES begin with you.

Examine what your rights, needs and wants entail as a unique, individual human being and then decide:  what can you do to get those things met and actually enjoy the process?

The answer may come to you in a flash, or you may have to work at it, but here’s the deal—the answer’s out there.  Don’t be lazy about this!

Your own joy and self-love is worth the effort, girl!  That’s the way to optimize the experience of your life as you try to live in harmony with your WHY and achieve your S.M.A.A.R.T. goals.

You’ll never attract anyone else that’s happy, healthy, smart and strong into your life without first having properly calibrated the magnet inside your soul to attract such people.  And you calibrate the magnet by being happy and well-fed emotionally within yourself.

The right people see a reflection of themselves in you and say, “You’re one of my kind.”

You may really want someone else to love really, really badly…to the point where it hurts!

But sending out vibes of damage and desperation will repel the very people you want in your life and attract those who, at some level, have that going on, too.

So focus on FUN and happiness, joy and soul-satisfaction on an individual level to create the best win-win situation possible: one where you’re already enjoying the ride of life on your own, when—surprise—before you know it, other people join you for that ride.

Why wouldn’t they?  It looks like you’re having so much fun; who doesn’t want a piece of that?
