Fun…Can You Enjoy the Business of Living?

Fun…if you’re an adult, the concept of “fun” itself might seem like it’s light years away.  When you were a kid, fun may have seemed to be perpetually on tap.  You ate candy and other goodies, you played and enjoyed yourself.

Now, as an adult, you’re not playing anywhere near as much as you used to and, sadly, candy and goodies are probably either down to a trickle in your daily diet or it ought to be and you’re struggling with that.

Which is, of course, not fun at all.

But you actually can bring some fun back into your life; in fact, you need to do that or you’re not going to be living a satisfying life at all.   Living your life in accordance with your WHY should help up the fun factor in your life.  Your WHY or your reason for living is something that’s worthwhile to you, and even if it takes many short-term and long-term goals to be living 100% in harmony with your WHY, you’re not going to mind all of the effort that’s involved.

Why?

It should make you feel happy, bright and airy inside or otherwise upbeat, positive, hopeful.  It should make you feel lit from within, because you’re living in a way that’s closer to your real, true, authentic self.  You’re becoming more evolved, all while doing what you really and truly want to do and of course that’s fun!

Want to know how to have even more fun?  Glad you asked….

First, during your goal setting ritual (during your daily Power Hour) take time to pat yourself on the back for every step taken with your WHY in mind.  Celebrate any goals you’ve achieved and set new ones that are bigger and better!

Second, commit to a daily approach to living that focuses on positive thoughts and deeds.  If you don’t name it, you can’t claim it, folks.

Third, enjoy a daily dose of nothing but humor.  Watch a comedy instead of negative programming.  Listen to a comedy station on your commute to work or school.  Contact your funny bestie or family member who really should’ve been a standup comedian and spend some time enjoying their company.  Read a joke a day out of a book/eBook or randomly off the Internet.  Scroll by negative crap on social media platforms to focus on posts that are fun or up-lifting.

Fourth, place the accent mark on fun throughout your everyday life. If you have a mobile office that travels with you to assist you with focusing on your WHY (which should make you feel good) you can take advantage of any serendipitous opportunity that presents itself to further your living in harmony with your WHY and up the odds of succeeding in terms of your S.M.A.A.R.T. goals.  Success is definitely fun.

Fifth, whenever you catch yourself going into “Old You” mode, where negativity kicks in pledge to STOP, take a deep breath and immediately focus on anything positive, uplifting and fun.

To continue upping the fun factor in your life to the point where you might even be able to cure yourself of a terminal illness like author Norman Cousins did, try his bestselling book, Anatomy of An Illness:  As Perceived by the Patient, available on Amazon.
