upgrade your life

You deserve an upgrade!

Here’s a four step, 30,000-foot approach to upgrade your life so that you’re happier and experience love and success in a far easier manner:

  1. Know that happiness is within you and never anything you can reach outside of yourself.  In addition, happiness is a process, and processes are based upon action.

Don’t just sit there, in other words…do something!  Everything that you do that has a positive outcome to it should bring you a measure of happiness, whether it’s large or small in size.  And be happy and satisfied with all that you do…if it’s not bringing you joy, you’re squandering some of the precious, limited time you have on this Earth.

  1. Know that overwhelm can be diffused by the old saying: “How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time.”  Next time you get overwhelmed by something ask yourself, “How do I handle this task? One baby step at a time.”

It’s nice to have both long-term and short-term goals, and all of them S.M.A.A.R.T. goals, but they shouldn’t be divorced from one another, somehow, in your mind.  Short-term goals should be joined together in a chain, so to speak, so that you can cross from one short-term goal to another, until you reach the other side…voila!  There’s a long-term goal that you either accomplished, or because of all of the groundwork you just laid, you can accomplish ASAP.

  1. Learn to release your ideas, thoughts/words and actions into the universe, without being too attached to the outcome.

Never live in fear.  You’ll find freedom when you otherwise release yourself from expectations and prejudgment.

Sure, be concerned about the environmental impact of what you do and say, but once you’ve reached a point where you wonder to yourself, “Am I overthinking this?” know that automatically you are and you need to let go.  Take calculated risks, but make sure you’re taking risks that are in alignment with your WHY.

You don’t want your whole life to be about a failure to launch…anything…do you?

  1. Have your priorities straight; it’s just as Suze Orman says: “People first, then money, then things…now you stay safe!”

If you’re constantly stuck in the paper (money) chase, you’re going to lose the forest for the trees.  People really must come first.  Stuff can’t love you back, and no matter how much you collect (or God help you, hoard), the thrill with things will eventually be gone and you’ll be stuck in the mall or online chasing a dragon that will never fill your soul.

Love yourself first and foremost, but then make it a point to love and be good to others.  You can’t beat the feeling of enjoying other people who enjoy you.  No woman is an island.

So when you upgrade your life, you focus on happiness and love…both self-love and love for others.  Whatever work you do in pursuit of these things should always be seen as worthwhile work.

Because worthwhile work equals a worthwhile life.

Upgrade achieved!
